My guiding question is: how does facing adversity help improve an individuals work ethic?
For my guiding question, I would like to use:
How does facing adversity help improve an individual's work ethic?
Personally, before coming to school I faced adversity in the aspect of my family. Facing this adversity built me into who I am today, and it ultimately changed my life. As my guiding question, I wanted to include this topic of adversity due to the powerful value it has had on myself as an individual, student, and young woman. For work ethic, I have always been a driven individual, working hard on whatever I put my mind to and never backing down from a task. I plan to continue this strong work ethic throughout my 6 years here at Quinnipiac, so seeing it in my guiding question would motivate me to keep pushing hard even when things are rough. Ultimately, I interpret this guiding question in a personal way, motivating me to use the adversity I have faced as a motivation to be the best I can be, maintain my work ethic, and become the best pediatric physical therapist I can become.
The activities in class on October 21 with Taylor helped me get a sense for what should be included in a guiding question. Talking about identity, changing the world, stressors, and causes, my eyes opened up to what I would like to include in my personal guiding question. For my guiding question, I hope to include something in regards to either making an impact, being involved, or helping a child face adversity in the sense of developmental delays or injuries. In addition, I want to include that I am hoping to become specifically a pediatric physical therapist. While brainstorming, these are a few rough outline guiding questions that I came up with:
1) How can strong involvement influence an efficient pediatric physical therapist?
2) How can a pediatric physical therapist help children face adversity?
3) How can a pediatric physical therapist impact a child who has developmental delay?
4) How can a pediatric physical therapist help a child face adversity of an injury?
